The Health Services Office is equipped to treat most routine out-patient care problems.
It is the goal of the Health Services Office to provide care, education and referral services when needed.
DTC’s Health Services Office is located on the main campus in Building 030. It is staffed by a nurse Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Weekday nights and during weekends a nurse is on call for emergencies. Students do not have to make an appointment to be seen by the Health Services staff. The Health Services Office is equipped to treat most routine out-patient care problems.
Students referred to a physician will be responsible for expenses that are not covered by their personal insurance. The Student Health Fee is included in the tuition. It is mandatory for all full-time students to maintain medical health coverage. Students can waive DTC Student Health Services fee if proper documentation supports coverage by a personal medical health insurance agency.
The Regional Medical Center is located in Orangeburg (26.8 miles) from the campus. The Bamberg Barnwell Emergency Department is located here in Denmark. Transportation can be provided by the nursing staff when needed. Also, a Bamberg County EMS substation is located 1.3 miles from the DTC main campus.
