Denmark Technical College (DTC) offers numerous institutional and special scholarships. The Office of the President, in consultation with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, recommends the granting of academic scholarships. The recommendations are made consistent with the established criteria. Scholarship awards may be restricted according to special purposes. Students needing additional assistance should contact the Office of Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Office administers all aid programs. Monitoring of the criteria for awards below will be done by the Office of the President.
To be considered for scholarships, you should apply for admissions and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and complete the DTC New Student Scholarship Application.
Presidential Scholarship Award
In-state tuition, room, board, and fees are offered by selection to an entering freshman who meets the following criteria:
- First-time, full-time students
- A high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale
To maintain this scholarship, the student must:
- Enroll in and pass a minimum of fifteen (15) semester credit hours each semester
- Maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 3.30
- Abide by the legal, ethical, and moral guidelines of Denmark Technical College.
- Understand and accept that there is a consequence for misconduct and that any actual or perceived impropriety behavior may result in the cancelation of your scholarship.
- Must complete a minimum of twenty (20) approved community service hours each semester
- Must complete the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) for Denmark Technical College
*Scholarships are non-refundable and are applied after all other financial aid and scholarships are exhausted. This may result in your Denmark Technical College scholarship being reduced. Scholarship recipients must apply for all federal and state financial aid, if applicable. Scholarship funds will be applied towards the cost of tuition, Denmark Technical College housing, meal plans, textbooks, and fees. All scholarship offers are finalized based on the final high school transcript and final high school grade point average.
Denmark Technical College Presidential Scholarships are merit-based and are available to first-time full-time college students.

Vice Presidential Scholarship Award
This one-year scholarship covers the current cost of in-state tuition and is offered by selection to an entering first-time student who meets the following criteria:
- A GPA of 3.3-3.49 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- First-time full-time students
- A current high school diploma, and
- Priority consideration will be given to students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)* and have successfully completed all financial aid processes and been awarded by June 30. Consideration may also be given to students who have demonstrated a strong likelihood to qualify for the Federal Pell Grant through a combination of other factors.
To maintain this scholarship, the student must enroll in and pass fifteen (15) semester credit hours and maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 3.00. All recipients are expected to abide by the legal, ethical and moral guidelines of Denmark Technical College. Recipients must understand and accept that there is a consequence for misconduct, and that any actual or perceived impropriety behavior may result in cancelation of their scholarship.
Deans’ Scholarship
This one-year scholarship covers half of current cost of in-state tuition and is offered by selection to an entering first-time student who meets the following criteria:
- A GPA of 3.0 -3.29 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- A current high school diploma, and
- First-time full-time students
- Priority consideration will be given to students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)* and have successfully completed all financial aid processes and been awarded by June 30. Consideration may also be given to students who have demonstrated a strong likelihood to qualify for the Federal Pell Grant through a combination of other factors.
Students must be an undergraduate student pursuing a first degree. To maintain this scholarship, the student must enroll in and pass fifteen (15) semester credit hours and maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 3.00. All recipients are expected to abide by the legal, ethical and moral guidelines of Denmark Technical College. Recipients must understand and accept that there is a consequence for misconduct, and that any actual or perceived impropriety behavior may result in cancelation of their scholarship.
MSIPP Scholarships
- be enrolled in one (1) of the following programs:
- Computer Technology
- Cybersecurity
- General Technology – Students must be enrolled in courses with a CYB, IST, or CPT prefix.
- be a new, transfer, or returning student with a 2.5 cumulative and semester (returning) grade point average.
- participate in at least five STEM-related activities per semester. These activities must include the hackathon and both app challenges.
- Must be enrolled in an eligible program of study.
- Must submit a letter and written documentation that supports the extenuating circumstance.
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
The A. Ronald Sanders Electromechanical Engineering Scholarship
The following policies and procedures, designed to ensure that all scholarship funds and the scholarship award grants made from such Scholarship Funds, from Fall 2024 to Spring 2029, comply with best practices, provision, and other applicable legal requirements. All scholarship selection committee members will be established by Denmark Technical College. The committee will follow procedures that comply with these policies and procedures, as well as all applicable legal requirements.
The A. Ronald Sanders Electromechanical Engineering Scholarship honors the commitment and professional achievements of alumni, A. Ronald Sanders. Among other things, this scholarship fund will provide access to those deserving students within the electro-mechanical engineering curriculum.
Purpose of the Scholarship Fund
To assist, support, and provide financial assistance to a deserving student with a desire to obtain a quality and cutting-edge education and to ultimately, obtain a productive job/career.
Scholarship Requirements:
- Be a student of African American descent.
- Applicant/recipients may be either male or female.
- Be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Be a high school graduate.
- Have a 2.5 or higher GPA.
- Should said scholarship be awarded to the recipient and the recipient accepts, the recipient is required to provide Mr. Sanders with a thank you letter describing how the scholarship assisted them on their educational journey.
Accordingly, a scholarship award grant can only be used for: (1.) tuition and fees, only, (2.) the scholarship will only be applicable/applied to the recipient’s account for the first year only, and (3.) the scholarship grant will equal and not exceed $5,000.
Should any current recipient of the A. Ronald Sanders Electromechanical Scholarship complete the following, they will become eligible for consideration of receiving funding from the A. Ronald Sanders Electromechanical Scholarship for the second year of their matriculation at Denmark Technical College. The funding amount will range from $1,000 to not exceed $3,000.00.
Scholarship Requirements for the 2nd Year of Matriculation:
- Scholarship recipients must increase their grade point average (GPA) by “.5” minimum, from the initial awarding of the scholarship funds;
- Scholarship recipients must be an active member of the Pre-Alumni Council and provide such documentation of their civic, community, and college engagements. The donor of this scholarship will fund the fees associated with the membership, to not exceed $25.00;
- Scholarship recipients must attend and actively participate in the Annual Homecoming Teach-In for alumni and students. Once the aforementioned items are completed, and proper documentation submitted to the liaison or Chair of the A. Ronald Sanders Electromechanical Engineering Scholarship Committee, the following will be submitted to the donor, A. Ronald Sanders:
- Unofficial Transcript of Scholarship Recipient
- Completed package of documentation for the Teach-In and any collegiate, alumni related and community events engagement.
