Mission

Upward Bound is one of Denmark Technical College’s TRIO Programs federally funded by the US Department of Education designed to provide support services to high school students (grades 9 – 12) in order to prepare them to graduate from high school, enroll in college, and graduate with a degree. Upward Bound is committed to supporting our students wherever they are. We are pleased to be able to provide programs that encourage academic growth  accompanied with cultural experiences to bring success into the lives of every participant.

Eligibility

Denmark Technical College Upward Bound now serves all schools located in Allendale, Bamberg, and Barnwell counties. To participate in the Denmark Technical College Upward Bound Program, you must:

  • Be a potential first-generation, college-bound student.

  • Reside in Allendale, Bamberg, or Barnwell County .

  • Meet established income guidelines.

  • Be enrolled in a rigorous high school curriculum.

  • Be interested in attending a four-year college.

  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Enrollment

To enroll in our Upward Bound program, submit a an application below or  request one from the guidance department at your high school.

Once the completed application is received, your application will be reviewed for completion and eligibility. Selected applicants and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be invited for an in-person or virtual interview via Zoom.

After the interview process, selected students will be invited to participate in the DTC Upward Bound Program. Participants will receive a New Student Packet and invited to attend an orientation.
