The Electromechanical Engineering Technology Program trains students in basic circuit analysis, electronic circuits, and applications of engineering principles in the manufacturing, installation, testing, and testing and repair of electromechanical systems. Graduates of this program can explore career opportunities in manufacturing, general engineering technology, energy conversion, energy utilization and sales fields.

Program Educational Outcomes (PEO):

  1. To train students in the application of computer-aided drafting or design tools to prepare graphical representations of electromechanical systems.
  2. To train students in application of circuit analysis, analog and digital electronics, basic instrumentation, associated software, and computers to aid in the characterization, analysis, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
  3. To train students in the application of statics, dynamics for applied mechanics, strength of materials, engineering materials, engineering standards and manufacturing processes to aid in the characterization, analysis and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs):

  1. An ability to apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve well-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
  2. An ability to design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the engineering design of systems, components, or processes appropriate to the discipline.
  3. An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in well-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
  4. An ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results.
  5. An ability to function effectively as a member of a technical team.
