Dear Denmark Technical College Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of early childhood education student Shawyna Mitchell-Sanders, who was taken from us after a tragic car accident on Christmas Eve.
Shawyna was a dedicated student who cared deeply for her craft. She was a light to the DTC family, always with a smile on her face.
The passing of a student is never easy, but is made even more painful occurring in the heart of the holiday season as we close out on what has been a most difficult year for so many.
May we all take pause to remember Shawyna’s life and to give thanks for the contributions she made to the DTC community.
