Tuition and Fee Relief Program
Who?
New, current and returning students are eligible for the tuition and fee relief program. SC residents can receive up to a 100% reduction in tuition, room, board and fees. Out of state students can receive up to a $2,813 credit, equal to the cost of in-state tuition, toward tuition costs as well as up to 100% reduction in tuition, room, board and fees.

The Denmark Technical College Tuition Relief Program offers new, current and returning students up to 100% tuition and fee relief for the summer and fall 2022 semesters. DTC is offering this program to help students and the community overcome the devastating impact of the of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our hope is that this program offers students who otherwise may not have been able to continue in school at this point the opportunity to set new goals and realize an impactful future, right here in Bamberg, Allendale and Barnwell counties.
All new, current, and returning students at DTC are eligible. This includes full-time and part time students, in-state, out-of-state and international students, returning students, new students and students who have taken a break and are returning to school. Out of state students are able to receive up to the amount of in-state tuition plus room, board and fees.
Once you have been accepted by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment and have completed all requirements related to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and have been registered for fall semester classes, a representative from the Office of the President will contact you to let you know your award amount.
Yes. The Denmark Technical College Tuition relief Scholarship is intended to be a last dollar program, meaning the funds cover tuition and fees after all other grants and scholarships have been awarded, covering the gap between the cost and what is not covered by other grants and scholarships.
Student loan eligibility does not factor in to the scholarships. Students can choose to take student loans to cover other educational costs. However, we recommend students take only what they need in loans as to minimize their debt upon graduation.
Yes. Student loan default does not affect eligibility.
No, but you do need to register for classes, and must have completed your 2022-2023 FAFSA and been awarded.
No. The program only covers credit-based courses. However, we do have scholarships available for continuing education courses.
No, but if you are struggling to cover past balances incurred since March 2020, please contact the Business Office/Fiscal Affairs at 803.793.5250. Assistance may be available.
Yes. Students perusing a subsequent degree, certificate or diploma can receive the scholarship.
No. This program is specifically for the semesters specified. We hope to offer similar opportunities in the future, but that has not yet been determined.
No. The program just covers the amount you owe after other grants and scholarships have been exhausted.
