Dear Denmark Technical College Family,
It is with immense gratitude and heartfelt reflection that I announce a significant milestone in my journey. I have the distinct honor of being appointed as the next president of Talladega College in Alabama. This institution, steeped in a rich history of resilience and excellence, has played a pivotal role in shaping the futures of countless individuals since its founding in 1867. I am excited to contribute to its legacy and to lead the Talladega College community in continuing the vital work of empowering students and fostering a spirit of perseverance that defines Talladega College.
While I am excited about this new chapter, the decision to leave Denmark Technical College has not come easily. Serving as your president has been the greatest privilege of my professional life. Our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners have inspired me every single day. Together, we reignited a sense of pride and possibility, restored trust, and built a foundation for a future filled with promise.
We didn’t just turn a corner. We turned vision into momentum. We revitalized campus spirit, strengthened student engagement, and reimagined what a small rural HBCU can achieve when we lead with heart, clarity, and courage. We centered students in everything we did, ensuring that each step forward reflected our shared belief in their potential and our mission to serve.
We also tackled long-standing challenges head-on. Together, we completed sweeping facilities improvements, modernized classrooms and labs with cutting-edge technology, and made long-overdue repairs to vital buildings. From campus-wide remodeling to addressing decades of deferred maintenance, we invested in spaces that reflect the excellence our students deserve and created an environment where learning can truly thrive.
My time at Denmark Technical College has been nothing short of transformational. This institution, its mission, its people, and its enduring spirit, will remain etched in my heart. As I transition through the last phase of this incredible journey, I leave with immense gratitude for every challenge we met and every success we achieved together. While my path now leads elsewhere in the coming months, the work we have done together, the experiences we have shared, the impact we have made, and the barriers we have overcome will keep Denmark Tech as one of the greatest honors of my career. Thank you for believing in me enough for us to endeavor to have the power to be transformational.
