Mission Statement

Denmark Technical College operates an academic Learning Resources Center (LRC) to provide broad support to the College’s educational program. The LRC acquires and maintains adequate and appropriate print, non-print and computer technology resources which support the College’s commitment to global information, the general core of studies, and the specialized content courses leading to the associate degree. The LRC is committed to the provision of a comprehensive system of services designed to facilitate effective study and scholastic achievement. Further, the LRC supports teaching and instruction and strengthens faculty access to relevant materials in their fields of specialization. The physical facility provides an environment that is conducive to study and enables the College to fulfill its obligations to students, faculty and staff relative to the overall institutional mission and purpose.

The purposed scope is realized through the pursuit of the following goals:

1. To acquire, maintain and provide access to a comprehensive collection that supports the curriculum.
2. To provide a wide range of library and LRC services to students, faculty and staff via print, non-print and computer technology.
3. To maintain a competent, experienced and effective staff to carry out the functions and responsibilities of the LRC in servicing students, faculty, and staff.
4. To create and maintain cooperative working relationships with area academic libraries to broaden the availability of information to students, faculty, and staff.
5. To provide a modern physical facility that is conducive to study, appropriate for services, and well-equipped with technology to maximize access to global information by students, faculty and staff.
