How to Apply for Financial Aid
1. Apply for a PIN. The PIN is a 4-digit number that both parent and student must have in order to electronically sign the FAFSA. You may apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
2. Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This application is required to qualify for grants, lottery tuition assistance, loans, work-study as well as any other grants that may be available. In order to complete the FAFSA, you will need your federal tax return for the current year. Please utilize the Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your tax information from the IRS. This option is located under the financial information portion of your FAFSA application. Be sure to use Denmark Technical College’s Code 005363.
3. Electronically sign the FAFSA using your PIN.
4. Please print confirmation page for your records and allow 3-5 business days for processing.
