Two DTC Students Named to the Phi Theta All-State Academic Team


 
The South Carolina Technical College System has named two of DTC’s finest, Ms. Yawanda Smith and Mrs. Georgeann Nickens-Mack to the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team. Ms. Smith and Ms. Mack belong to an elite group of only twenty-nine students selected from a pool of tens of thousands of students representing 13 technical colleges within the system.
Yawanda Smith is from Allendale, SC. She graduated from DTC with honors with a General Business degree and is currently enrolled in the Practical Nursing program. She has been a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa since 2013.
Georgeann Nickens-Mack is from Blackville, SC and has been a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa since 2013. She graduated with a degree in Administrative Office Technology and is currently enrolled in general business and will be graduating in May 2015.
Honorees are chosen based on their outstanding records of academic achievement (GPA), participation in campus and community programs, and service to Denmark Technical College. Ms. Smith and Ms. Mack will be honored at an awards ceremony to be held at the State House in Columbia at 10:00 a.m. on March 31, 2015.

I am excited that two of our finest will be honored at the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team award ceremony,” exclaimed Leonard A. McIntyre, President.
