Mr. Corbett Denmark, S.C. – June 18, 2014 – Denmark Technical College (DTC) is pleased to announce the newest member of the DTC family. Marcus D. Corbett recently joined DTC as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management on May 19, 2014. Corbett has a background in education, is an author, and has dedicated his life to working with a variety of youth-care and student centered programs in higher education as well as public and private non-profit organizations. Corbett has extensive training and experience recruiting and mentoring students, community outreach initiatives, and working with at-risk youth involving gang intervention and prevention strategies.

Corbett is a proven leader with extensive knowledge and experience of working in numerous comprehensive student services environments and as a student advocate. Mr. Corbett is excited about joining the DTC community. His immediate goal is to collaborate with and to form working relationships with our administration, faculty, staff, and community partners to “build a student body of design rather than chance!” “I am extremely humbled and honored to be appointed to this great privilege of service. As Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, I am committed to working with a dedicated staff to recruit a diverse and academically talented group of students to attend Denmark Technical College.” Corbett’s mother was born and raised in the Denmark-Olar community, so he has an innate interest in seeing the college succeed. “I am eager to give back and assist the students that are currently attending this historical institution of higher learning as well as our future students. I am excited to be a part of the place ‘Where great things are happening!’ ”

As a native New Yorker from Springfield Gardens Queens, Corbett attended Metropolitan College of New York City (MCNY) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services (2003) and a Master of Public Administration and Affairs (2004). Corbett has also completed all of the course work for a Master’s degree in the Arts and Teaching-English and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. Corbett is married to Cristina and is the proud father of two boys, Jordan (10) and Julian (8). The DTC family is proud to welcome him as a new member.
